Feeling wiser (because I am older, yes), last night I decided to call an end to an insane weekend (with good and bad, but really intense) by chilling out and watching a film. And, to prove i’m not at all wiser, I decided to watch Lars von Trier’s “Antichrist”, a film that can be called as anything but chill.
However, the film is fantastic in the way it’s actually made. The themes are very strange; compared to this film, “dogville” is a walk in the park. It’s really worth watching, but only if you have the stomach for some disturbing imagery. If you can get over those details, you can see a plot about drama, about pain, and about the way overexposure to a theme can make you adopt the theme subconsciously. (Very applicable to people watching romanian news on TV, and starting to act like the people presented there). Overall, I think it’s worth watching, but absolutely not if you’re the person who only likes romantic comedies with Sandra Bullock or Jennifer Aniston. Owen Wilson either.
Another great thing about this movie is the soundtrack for the “prologue” and the “Epilogue” – I looked it up, and feel like sharing it, because it’s really a fantastic piece of music.
